A Breakthrough in Composite Deck Panelling
MarinaTred might well be the breakthrough composite deck panel the marina industry has been waiting for.
MarinaTred is manufactured from virgin materials into high strength structural panels. The materials used in MarinaTred are fiber
reinforced polyester resins with added fire-retardant UV inhibitors, constructed with a hand-laid sandwich core. These qualities give the material the features that are needed for marine environments: corrosion, impact and slip resistance. The decking is also non-conductive, non-magnetic and non-sparking to meet boaters' safety needs.
MarinaTred's deck surface has a beautiful multi-directional non-skid matrix that's color-fast, and designed for the heavy traffic demands of public marinas. And the material is environmentally friendly and "wood free": it utilizes a high strength structural foam core much like the transoms on new high-tech speedboats.
MarinaTred inventor, Chris Clark, is no stranger to designing products for the marina environment. Clark started Atlantic Marina Services in 1982, which grew with the acquisitions of Thompson Flotation in 1986 and Meeco International in 1993. He then sold his business in 1999 and started designing MarinaTred.
Clark says, "I have had the privilege of building over 400 marinas in every part of the country, as well as over 50 marinas abroad. I have had first hand experience with the extremes of temperature and long-term effects of environmental conditions. I've listened to the demands of seasoned marina owners and operators for over twenty years, and I'm excited to see how positively they are responding to this deck.
